Practice – Dysfunctional, Prognosis – Hopeful: New Thinking About Holistic Business Practice in the Health Supply ChainOur ground-breaking strategic analysis of why many operational and systems improvements targeted at the health sector don’t really work – concluding with a range of suggestions on how to achieve successful, sustainable change. Since releasing this, Ithaca has successfully introduced these BEYOND Lean changes into many hospital environments – in Australia and Europe. Comparative Study: Point-of-Use Vs. Legacy System Supply Chain Ithaca completed this study on behalf of Sentient Health in Japan and Australia in 2005. Placing each system implementation in the context of their particular health service environment, Ithaca found that very significant opportunity exists to introduce point-of-use systems into hospital supply chains. |

The paper focused on firstly selecting the right software to support already optimised processes – going on to discuss best practice implementation methodologies. The idea for the paper was generated by our observation of how many hospitals get this wrong! |
